🇩🇪 🚂 On an early October morning in 1958, enthusiastic fans greet the King of Rock'n Roll Elvis Presley at the Columbus Quay in Bremerhaven, Germany. The world star humbly steps out of the troopship "USS General Randall" and waves to his fans at the stopover before continuing his journey to Hesse in the South of Germany.
🇺🇸 The world star would be stationed in Friedberg at the "Ray Barracks" for almost 2 years to complete his military service. In contrast to his comrades however, GI Elvis Presley has mainly lived in a villa in Bad Nauheim.
🏡 Although Elvis' short visit to Germany is now more than half a century ago, the people of Bad Nauheim have not forgotten him. On the contrary, a true Elvis cult awaits visitors in the tranquil spa town north of Frankfurt.
🕺 An Elvis traffic light, the clef-framed "Elvis Bank" and the annual @europeanelvisfestival commemorates the Rock 'n Roll legend's stay in Germany
🗺️ Just in time for the the Day of Rock‘n Roll on July 9, the city tour tour "In the Footsteps of Elvis", takes you on a little trip back in time. The tour is leading past the Hotel Villa Grunewald, with Elvis Room Nr. 10 still in its original state, or the Usa Bridge with the only bronze Elvis statue in Germany leaning against the banister.
💬 Are you an Elvis Fan? Check out the next European Elvis Festival in Bad Nauheim which will take place from August 18 to 20 2023.
