Today that is 2. August 2023, 80 years have passed since the uprising in the Treblinka extermination camp!
In this camp, the prisoners were not used to work for war purposes, except for working for the running of the camp, the place was set up only for the purpose of their immediate elimination.
From the establishment of the camp in spring 1942 to August 1943, 780 000 to 900 000 people were gassed, shot or otherwise murdered in Treblinka, many of them directly from Terezín.
Out of 850 prisoners in Treblinka, 2 succeeded. August 1943 approximately 300 people escaped and at least 60 of them survived the war!
Richard Glazar from Czechoslovakia also had a privileged position among them. His book "Treblinka, a word from a nursery rhyme" is a unique testimony to the incredible crimes of Nazi Germany in Treblinka, which were supposed to remain secret to the world.
Richard Glazar suffered a lifetime of trauma, which he voluntarily ended in 1997 by jumping out of a window after his wife's death. Honoring his memory !
