History has witnessed many ghastly and terrible events throughout the globe. Rapes of Nanking are those black pages of history which no one wants to go over. I am talking about the unfortunate incident which happened in the Second Sino Japanese war where the country like China was not as powerful as it is now and Japan was not as peaceful country as it seems to be now.

Have you ever heard the phrase “Once bitten, Shy twice” this phrase completely fits on as China has already undergone a lots of pain. Pick any awful incident of the past you will see common victims around the world i.e Women and children. The city of Nanking was founded in the 8th century B.C and is located in the eastern part of China along the Yangtze River.

It had been capital for early Chinese dynasties until 1949 when Beijing finally became the capital of China. Japan and China were never friends they have continuously fought with each other over territories and power. Japan during that time had the most powerful army of the world, on the contrary, there was a power struggle going on between the nationalist party of China and the Communist Party of China so neither they paid attention towards their army nor the people of China which worked as a key chain for this incident.

It doesn’t matter how powerful you are until you prove it, Japan in the thirst of expanding its territory was fighting with the South east Asian nations and it had conquered Korea completely till 1894 it is also called 1st Sino Japan war. In 1931 Japan started expanding its force to northern China by 1937 they had taken full control over Shanghai and their next target was Nanking which was capital of China.

Chiang-kai-Shek the leader of Kuomintang party (KMT) he was also known as Red general had a little control over China but he did not make wise decisions that time he decided to call off the Chinese army from Nanking and let Japanese army get inside China actually he was educated by a German adviser to let Japanese army get more inside China so that they can attack them easily, this was the worst decision for Chinese people.

General Tang nationalist general in the Republic of China who was in Nanking during that time did not agree with this decision and decided to fight until his death.

On the other side, people of China unaware of the true intentions of the Japanese army, thought that they had come to rescue them from their suffering since they were not happy with the Chinese government and Japan was a prosperous country of that time.

People welcomed, greeted and even cheered for the Japanese army they waved flags of Japan from their windows, people were really happy but this happiness did not last long as soon as they saw that Japanese army were cutting the bodies of their people like vegetables, shooting them on the site without motive.
