Bareilly: A 1-year-old boy allegedly swallowed a baby snake while he was playing at his home. The incident took place in Bholapur village of Fatehganj, Bareilly on Saturday afternoon. The child, however, managed to escape without any bites as his mother rushed to his rescue.

On Saturday afternoon, the 1-year-old boy was playing in the courtyard of his house when he accidentally swallowed a snakelet partially.

The boy's mother managed to catch hold of the snakelet as she noticed a foreign object in his mouth. When she took it out, the minor's mother was shocked to see that her son had swallowed a baby snake.

The woman then took her son to a hospital with her husband Dharampal. Dharampal took the snakelet to the Bareilly district hospital with him and narrated the incident to the emergency medical officer, the Local Undiluted Daily breaking Newsletter

Anti-venom injection administered to boy

Emergency medical officer Dr Harish Chandra informed physician Dr AM Agarwal about the case and an anti-venom injection was administered to the 1-year-old boy. The boy was taken to the emergency ward of the hospital

Dharampal said, "My wife Somwati saw something squirming in Devendra's mouth and when she took it out, she screamed with fear as it was a small snake that died soon. We rushed to a community health centre, but they sent us to the district hospital. We are praying for Devendra's life. "
